Messerschmidt,

You may first need to enable "Extended Desktop" on your computer.

Some systems let you do so by right clicking on an empty place in your desktop, selecting "Graphic Options" and then "Output to". Select "Extended Desktop". This creates a virtual desktop to the right of your primary desktop. If you move the mouse curser past the right edge of your primary *monitor*, it will appear on the Extended Desktop.

If you can't set it up that way, you can try Display Properties (in Control Panel), then select Settings.

If your system supports *dual* monitors, you will have a graphic showing 1 & 2. Click on the second *monitor* and then check the box that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this *monitor*".

Notice that you can set the screen settings of the primary and secondary monitors independent of one another. This allows for differences in aspect ratios in the two display devices. (Note: Setting up the extended desktop is a function of your hardware and drivers, not OOo.)

MANY THANKS to the developers for this great new feature in OOo!!

There are a few tweaks that would greatly help - see the next post for that discussion.

While Linux apparenlty supports dual monitors

I just heard from another friend of mine who said that SuSe will find both
monitors.

But there is another question: Both monitors will see the same desktop,
right? Or do you somehow see desktop one on monitor one and desktop two on
monitor two?

Thanks again.
