To remove empty paragraphs without disturbing any styles, use
Find & Replace (Control + F). Enter
^$
in the Find box and leave the Replace box empty. Click "More Options"
and the check (tick) Regular Expressings. Finally click Replace all.
Explanation: ^ looks for the first character in a paragraph and $
looks for the last character. So this combination looks for no first
nor last character, i.e., an empty paragraph.
Suggestion, if you are not sure this will work, create a dummy
file with a mixture of paragraphs and empty ones. Apply it.
