I have downloaded without any problem the french version a few days ago.
Works OK but I get the following message when trying to get updates:
"Impossible d'interpréter le nom d'hôte update.services.openoffice.org."? No
help file is available with the message. I could not find a solution in the
Help files or on your web site.
