I've not had the same experiences as you with 2.1, so it's intriguing.
When reporting issues, if they are repeatable (which yours sound like they are), if you enter the steps and can, if possible, attach the offending file, it will still help the developers fix the issue. /paul On 1/30/07, Mats Deland <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Thanks Paul, but please don't misunderstand. Oo 2.1 Writer crashes more easily with heavy files, but also with smaller, and the autorecovery function n e v e r works. I looked at the reporting function, but just as I suspected it demanded not a small amount of computer skill. How the earth does one report something that d o e s n o t happen - with no error messages, no defunct files (that I know about), no specific procedures - simply a function that is not there. This way of reporting of course gives a bias for more specialised problems, which interest the specialists that generally figure on the list. I guess the only way is for Sun is to cancel the 2.1 version, at least the Windows version, and provide a way to return to 2.0. But that is probably to much to hope for. all the best Mats Deland ----Ursprungligt meddelande----- From: Paul [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 21:30:31 +0100 To: "Mats Deland" [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [users] Autorecover 2.1 writer > thanks so much for that. However, I have the default settings (15 minutes), but the recovery still doesn't happen. A lead could be that it happens most frequently when I work with a large file, with a lot of index markings. I would be happy to report a bug, but I don't know how. The only report function that I can seee goes to Microsoft, and they know everything about it by now. If there is anyway that I could report to Oo, I would mbe happy to do so. However, I am no data engineer (which is also why I use XP). Interesting. Its always worked for me. Is there something special about the document - apart from the indexes? Does it have alot of other formatting? Reporting an issue to OOo can be done following the below link.
