Evidently, my earlier message (as follows) has gone astray:

There are two add-ons to convert text to columns on www.ooomacros.org (on
the user page).  The difference between them is that one equalises column
widths.

Download the file/s you want and use Tools >Package (or Extension) Manager
to install them.  Do NOT unzip the file/s you download.
