     It is free to use both for personal and commercial purposes. You 
can get the license at http://www.openoffice.org/license.html. There 
is a German version of the web site at http://de.openoffice.org. You 
should be able to find the license in German there. If you want OOo 
to be in German, you will probably want to download it from the 
German site also.
