Iexpect I am missing something in this problem, judging by some of the
complicated suggestions I have read. Being just a simple soul, I have used,
when facing this problem, the OO 'Convert to Table' facility , ie in a Text
document - Table/Convert. Then copying the resultant table into a blank
spreadsheet which gives you Columns and Rows as normal.

I dont know if this is any help to others?

Hold on. Don't re-download just yet. What it seems you are looking at

are the options for 'save as' when you are in writer. This is the word

processing package of OpenOffice.

What you need to do is open the .csv in calc, then the save as options

will be available.
