Since you are saying "Excel program", I guess that you wrote one or more VB
macros. Those will not work at the moment, but I think there is a project in
progress that will make it possible to translate VB macros to
OpenOffice.orgmacros, but I am not sure they intend to make that
happen in both
directions.
If you are not using any macros, then you can convert in both directions, if
you convert using OpenOffice.org. However complex files might not look
exactly like the original.
