Unfortunately, I could not find any "reset dialogs" button or related setting in any of the OOo options screens, although it *SHOULD* be there. Alas, I had to open the Writer.xcu file and change:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ <node oor:name="PrintOutput"> <prop oor:name="AskForMerge" oor:type="xs:boolean"> <value>false</value> </prop> </node> to: <node oor:name="PrintOutput"> <prop oor:name="AskForMerge" oor:type="xs:boolean"> <value>true</value> </prop> </node> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There should be a simple way to reset all dialogs to the installation default, or, for the more advanced novice, a selection screen with an organized list of meaningful dialog names and a checkbox next to each defining whether it is on or off. Of course, not being a programmer, I have no idea what it would take to implement such a feature. I also do not know how important it is to the OOo user community as a whole... This could be a problem for users rightly unwilling to mess with what they do not know. I get tired of telling people to hack their user folder (or, sometimes the software folders) - if the software was well written, it would be unnecessary.
