No problem.
If you utilize the web interface, this shouldn't really be an issue
since it just puts your reply in the thread and moves on.  If you use a
POP client like Thunderbird, however, it can give you headaches.  Which
is why I use my ISP's SMTP server on all e-mails I sent, even those from
GMail.
