Hello:
I am enrolled in a basic statistics course. I am not computer literate, but I am trying to use Open Office Calculator. I need help finding and starting wizards for data analysis. I need to be able to calculate arithmetic mean and median; first quartile and third quartile; range; interquartile range; variance; standard deviation; coefficient of variation; and other functions. I tried to use Open Office "Help", but still cannot figure out where to start. I also need to create tables for my results, using correct formulas in the function bar. Please help me. Is there any way to convert the Open Office application for use with Excel programs? Thank you, yvette

Yvette,
Nearly everything you need is on the function bar. To the left of the greek symbol for sigma is f(x0 this will open the function wizard. The category you want is 'statistics' Most of the functions are self explanatory. You can, just like excel, drag across cells to input data.
Mean is average
and standard deviation is STDEV
