Did you try "Folder Options" (or the like; I am using the French
version), where you can select the program associated with *.doc files.

We have an app that no longer has vendor support. We cannot get rid of
Office for that one app. It calls Word, don't know if it is a COM call
or something else, but opens Word with the report that needs to be
printed out.
I remember seeing some code somewhere what would intercept calls to Word
and route them to OO Writer, but don't know where I saw that and cannot
seem to find it..
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
