Good point, as long as all the spot-formatting options (and their hot-key equivalents) were mapped to character styles, and all indents, tab-sets, whatever... were similarly mapped to Paragraph or Page styles, and so on. But generally, you like the overall notion of being able to "force" some kind of compliance to the use of styles? A further thought is that - when that mode was on - any attempt to use spot formatting would bring up the Stylist. Hmm. What are the downsides to this notion? Any?
