I can resize and close individual windows on Linux.  I'd expect quite an
outcry if you could not do that on M$ windohs, so I suspect there is
something wrong with your installation.  Check your download:

Perhaps.  I think the default search should include formulas AND values.

The options are often missed, especially by anyone gullible enough to use
the toolbar icons.  The difficulty with getting changes like this made is
finding a programmer willing to work on the issue.

There must be something wrong with your installation.  File >Recent Files is
standard.

That sounds like a job for the window manager.  I know of no setting to
change mouse behaviour in OpenOffice, using the GUI.

Selecting the whole column is very useful for applying a cell style to the
whole column.  I would not like to see that changed.  Calc is not Excel,
which is the main thing it has going for it.
