I've been using Open Office 2.1 very happily for the last few months, but
I've suddenly hit trouble.
I've got a big job on that involves checking and editing a lot of imported
PowerPoint files. (Yes, I know, but it's the clients' choice. Several
clients, not just one.)
The ppt files load into Impress fine, and look great. BUT problems occur if
I modify a slide, either on the drawing or the notes area. If I then go into
Notes, the image of the slide at the top of the page vanishes. And it stays
vanished, not only on the one slide but on all of them.
I've tried printing a notes page in this situation, which should show both
elements but the graphic doesn't print out. Shutting Impress, even
rebooting, doesn't bring the graphic back. The only way to restore the file
is to reload the original file, which of course defeats my efforts to edit.
The PowerPoints are coming to me from a variety of sources, probably all
using different versions.
Can you help? I'm tearing my hair out here.
