Are you still having this problem ?

No problem solved, The network N2100 form thecus was mounted with the name
N2100_disk.
The underscore '_' was the problem, it is not allowed, curious but true, so
when the name was changed to N2100
the problem was solved.

I don't know if the problem was windows XP related or to the network
harddisk.
But the problem only appeared with open office and not with microsoft
office.

anyway my problem is solved
Thanks for the reply

Richard

- are you using the network disk as a standard mounted disk ?

- what version of Windows are you using ?

XP sp2

- if you first start OpenOffice and then use "File" -> "Open" can you open
the files?

nope

- do you have permission to write files to that network disk ?
