There is nothing that is closely analogous to Publisher. However, I've
been using Writer to create newsletters for an organization that I
belong to for over two years now, and it works fairly well.
A few things that you'll want to learn about Writer, in order to do
newsletters, are: sections; frames; columns; styles; how to insert and
caption photos; page numbering.
Most of these topics, you can learn about by reading the documentation
