Comment in-line and another at the end.

I am very impressed with the help I am getting.
I comment below on your instructions:

YES THIS HAPPENS

NO - I ONLY GET A BORDER WHEN I HOLD THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON DOWN
AND, EVEN THOUGH I CONTINUE TO HOLD IT DOWN THE BORDER DISAPPEARS
AFTER A SECOND OR TWO. THERE IS NO CURSOR. IF I DOUBLE CLICK THE
TEXT BOX I GET A CURSOR BUT THE END AND HOME KEYS DON'T AFFECT IT,
AND IF I USE THE ENTER KEY THE CURSER IS OBVIOUSLY BEHIND THE TEXT
BOX (BUT SHOWING THOUGH) BECAUSE YOU CAN THEN GET IT DOWN BELOW THE
TEXT BOX. WOULD IT HELP IF I SENDYOU THE FILE TO LOOK AT?
Why did you hold the left mouse button down? My instructions
were to click inside the text box. I did not say hold the left mouse
button down. Once you have highlighted the text box with the single
quick click, you do not need to use the mouse again until you right
click the highlighted text.
Right -well, when I do what you say nothing happens in the text box that has
the six handles showing. There is no border as you describe and there is no
cursor. Pressing end brings up the last slide in the set. Pressing shift
home takes me to the first slide in the set

SO I CAN'T DO THE REST OF WHAT YOU SUGGEST
HELP!

Please do not use all "caps" in your email. It is considered to
be "shouting". Furthermore, my email client adds ">" to show which
parts of the message go together.
Dan
I apologise for shouting. I am not too used to e-mail to people other than
my friends.
