     Probably, the formating will close to the original MS Word .doc
file. If you understand you right, you should open the .doc file in
OpenOffice.org (OOo). Then use Save As to save it as an OOo Writer
format (.odt). You might want to then close the .odt file and then
reopen it to see if any of the margins, tabs, or body have changed.
Do this just to be sure.
