Why not provide simple step-by-step instruction to original poster?

My point is that it is doable. And having that feature would not make
your life with 5K styles any different, so why argue?

I am sure it can be implemented on *nix platforms, at most you would
need to modify OS for that. Sun could do this for Solaris and propose
the same for Linux community. If Apple would not follow the suit their
users will need to "think different".

But even if detecting layout switch is impossible on *nix, why users on
one platform should suffer from deficiencies of another platform?

P.S. 1035 is open now.

P.P.S. I just fail to understand why it is difficult to just admit the
problem and say "Yes, we can't do this. Yet. Here is how you can help in
improving the situation. And before situation improves this is the
workaround you should use."?
