For what it may be worth, there is a CALC macro statistical package
available at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=87718&package_id=106652
and another package available from:
http://ooextras.sourceforge.net/downloads/english/index.php?command=download&real=RepeatedMeasuresANOVA.stc
Hope this helps.

I am a novice user of Open Office Calc as it was the office suite

how do I get it to show up in the topline menu as it does in
Excel or
how will I be able to use it?

I would recommend contacting the makers of the MegaStat
Add-in to ask
them if it works with Calc.
By the looks of their website it has been made only for Excel...
Ask them if they will develop a version for Calc, which should be
easier as Calc is open source.
Hope this helps
I'd think that Allen is out of luck and must locate and install
a copy of Microsoft Office in order to use that Excel plug-in.
This will, of course, negate any savings he realized by buying
a computer with OOo installed. Too bad to do that to a student.
Asking the author (this professor Orris) to develop an open-source
version to work with Calc might benefit future victims, but even
if the author had the best will in the World, he's not gonna
complete a completely new version of a massive stats package
for the current school year.
Maybe a campaign of OOo users requesting a non-MS compatible
version would help speed the process. The good prof must
realize how much of a burden the MS Office requirement is
on students, and how arbitrary, now that OOo is so mature.
On a positive note, Allen might find older licenses for MS Office
at a steep discount, now that Vista and Office 2007 are out.
Of course, if he's got Vista, he might not be able to run
the MegaStat plug-in regardless, and wouldn't that be ... er...
ironic.
