Sorry Peter, I need to read more thoroughly, don't I. That isn't a
technique I use for creating files normally.

Would it work after a full restart including Quickstarter?

I'll answer myself on that one - NO. Just tried with a "virtual"
WindowsME installation with OOo 2.1 and it does open with Times New
Roman, despite default template being set to Bitstream Vera Serif.
Probably should be reported as a defect, if it affects anyone
significantly enough.

Hello All,

An update from the Italian users mailing list.

Denis found a way to replace the default template using an application
called Tweak UI.
I did not try myself, but he said that all you have to do is to create
a template which uses the fonts you want, save it somewhere and then
from the
Tweak UI > Templates menu replace the default template with the one you created.

Probably not the most elegant solution ever, but it seems to be doing the job.

Cheers,

Michele
