To create a PDF file from OpenOffice.org (OOo), use
File > Export as PDF.
To use File > Save As to save as MS Word, RTF, or TXT, look at
the File type drop down list. When you open File > Save as the File
type is OpenDocument Text (.odt). Click this name to open the drop
down list. Then scroll down to the format you want to use. (There are
many of them.)
