I agree. User's are confused enough without the need to figure out where the
bug is. I think that the QA team should, as a part of the triage, be the one's
to
assign the problem area unless the problem is obvious and on a pull down list
which is linked to setup the other values. Also, users should be able to pick
their operating system appropriately (like the Mac version has THREE different
operating systems that OpenOffice.org has been built on, Jaguar (no longer
supported),
Panther (Mac OS X 10.3.x, not supported with OpenOffice.org 2.2 or later), and
Tiger
(Mac OS X 10.4.x).) A problem can occur on a specific Operating system, for
example,
Fedora Core 5, but not on another, for example, Debian Woody. The ability to
pick
up some of this information is critical for detecting and fixing problems.
Also, the vote system needs an overhaul. You should be able to click on Vote
and be
told that you have voted for the issue and you can vote again for this issue.
Once you
have voted twice, the vote option is removed. Once you have voted for five
issues in the
same category and I'm not speaking of problems in just one area, you cannot
vote again
until one of the issues is closed, either being fixed or being marked as a
duplicate.
I'll stop here, for now.

I like your suggestion. Post a wish-bug!
