Ah, that was it - the font files needed to be added to C:windows/fonts.

OOo uses the fonts that you have installed on your OS. I'm not running
windows any longer (except for troubleshooting), but I am pretty sure
that the problem is that you must first install the fonts to your OS.
Have a look at: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/TrueTypeInstallXP.mspx
follow the directions & see if that fixes your problem.
