Works for me... 2.1 linux. I used the same white fontwork text (first fontwork selection). Double changed it to red. Doubleclicked the "fontwork" text, changed it to "Happy Chinese New Year!", moved on and created some standard text out side of it, even saved the file & reloaded. All works.
