Vista is just the attempt by a very greedy company to force folks to see things there way. Unfortunately, MS may have misjudged the American people and this may come back to bite them. > >> Using Window has been a bad move for many years. Vista makes it much >> worse. This may be another bad move from the folks at Redmond when folks find out that they have been forced into a corner and they may abandon computing or decide to move overseas leaving many American employees behind. This would spell disaster for the World Economy. > >> A bit of info on my background. I have been in computer support for a >> significant portion of my career. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few years. I agree, however, that moving to Vista will be a complete disaster as folks loose what little system control they have. > >> Further, it is MS's policy to enforce "lock in", even employing illegal >> methods to do so. I know that the U.S. Federal Government will not and even leashed the only Federal judge to stand up to their tactics. However, I am glad that Sun and this project have decided to support (directly or indirectly) other platforms than the one's created by the Guru of Redmond. However, I will state that Windows, since Windows95 has and continues to serve as an entry point for many new computer users and WinIntel systems continue to have a low entry cost for the average consumer.
