You could try running it with the Gnu debugger: http://sourceware.org/gdb/ . An example of use is here: http://gaim.sourceforge.net/gdb.php . Otherwise, use strace <command> in the console. It will be the last lines of output which display the errors. You may find a "no such file" or other comprehensible output. Have you tried running the software as root? If you can, there is some problem with your /home folder. It may be a problem with permissions, so chmod -R u+w /home/jan may be all you need. If you can run it as root and cannot fix your user account, it may be expedient to create a new user account. Have you been using a previous version without difficulty? If so, the problem may lie in your settings folder. It will have some name like ~/.openoffice.org2 . Try changing it to .openoffice.org2.bad and see whether that helps. If you are using an official build, another thing you could do is check the md5sum: http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/md5sums.html Good luck. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/OpenOffice-abort-on-StartUp-tf3250203.html#a9036755 Sent from the openoffice - users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
