Not sure I understand your problem.
You should be able to open 1.x (sxc) spreadsheets and save them in 2.x
(ods) format, using OOo (OpenOffice.org) version 1.1.5 or higher.
I though 1.1.5 was the first version to be able read OpenDocument
formats, but it couldn't write them.
