It's not that important, and this extension I'm using is nice, or looks like it will be. (I haven't had it for long.) One thing worries me, though: if the extension programmers control how the extensions display, and there's no standard, what's to keep every extension from creating a menu with a slightly different name and really cluttering up the menu bar? Right now that's really not a problem. There aren't that many extensions, and those that exist look like they have specific enough uses that nobody's likely to use very many of them.
