1) If you access the OpenOffice.org web site and got a user name and password, those are for use on certain parts of the web site only. 2) If the receiver of the spreadsheet has Excel, you should have used File > Send > Email as Microsoft Excel. This is available on the latest OOo versions (2.1.0). If you do not have this option, use File > Save As and save the file in Excel's format. Make that change in the File type drop down list. Only after doing that should you use File > Send > Email.
