Allan,
If you open OpeOffice 2.0 Writer, go to TOOls, OPTIONS, LANGUAGES
you will see many Eastern European langs. You will have to puzzle out how
to use this set of selections. I feel sure this will give you something
along your desired lines. good luck !
There are also commercialy available little sheets of stickers to put on the
latin script keyboard - but perhaps your keyboard is already suitable?

I do not know how it is possible to switch languages or use accented
words since there is no Central European language font set that I can
find.
thank you
allan
There is a OpenOffice.org project in the Hungarian language. They will be
able to help you, I suppose:
http://hu.openoffice.org/
You can even have Hungarian as language of the interface.
