James, cool your jets.
I think that everyone that participates here (lurking or active)
appreciate every contribution (right/wrong/indifferent) by the
list/group "subscribers/contributors".
My note was "volunteer staffed"; "staffed" being the key. It did not
mention anyone being payed, it simply stated: "is simply comprised of
other OOo users... is that not correct?" So, yes the question still
stands: "is there actually a "volunteer staff" that actually service
this list/group?".
Are you a "staff" member of OOo? I'm not being confrontational, I'm just
asking a plain and simple question.
Haven't a clue as to your comments regarding the following:

No clue what that is about either. WTF is the "appropriate wording of
the README"? I can't say that I've *ever* seen, read, or evaluated a
"README" before your mention of it. Just went and looked at the "README"
file in my installation directory... it's dated 30 November 2006 and the
contents are considerably out of date for the 2.1 install that I have.
Is this the "README" that you are referring to? If so, perhaps it would
be better to simply update and add helpful comments to the OOo
installation & download page so that folks don't always wander in here
and try to figure out how to open Calc from their new Mac install, or
Window users know how to add OOo icons to their desktop etc.
If, on the otherhand, you (and perhaps others) are indeed OOo volunteer
"staff" I'll simply stop posting my comments/advise and instead just
direct questions to the "staff" instead.
As I said; cool your jets. There was no insult or ill harm meant in my
comments/question. It was simply a question - either answer it, or
ignore it, but don't come back with "Do you have a counter argument to
these statements. I would gladly like to read it" nonsense. I also have
better things to do, and will gladly just killfile you if that is your
ongoing attitude.
