Dear Dan

Thx for your help. I'm not sure I fully understand.

Hi

What is your latest - most recent and best version of OpenOffice
that I can obtain? How can I put it on my computer so that it will
also retain all my files?

HELP. Thx. [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The latest version is 2.1.0 with 2.2.0 due out in the near
future. Download it from http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/. If
you install it, it will not change any of your files. However, there
is one page of the installation that asks if you want OpenOffice.org
to open your MS Office files. All the boxes on that page are empty by
default. Leave those boxes empty. The question on that page refers to
file associations. Any of the file formats that you might click on
that page will change the icon of all the files with the selected
file type or types. If you then double click one of these files, it
will open in OOo rather than in MS Office. That is why I suggest you
leave the boxes on that page blank if you want MS Office to open one
of its files when it is double clicked.

Dan
