Alternatively, look for a download manager to do the download for you. 
These will restart from where they left off if the connection should be 
interrupted. There are several free ones around -- google for "freeware 
download manager" and try them.

(They do work well, btw. I used to be on a 56k dial-up that the ISP 
disconnected after 60 minutes. I could still download 600Mb CD images.)
