Linux doesn't need the extensions. I just include them for the benefits of those using Windows. Before switching to Linux, I used OS/2 for many years. It also doesn't need extensions. Only brain dead MS software needs extensions. It's amazing how the world's leading(?) software company is so backwards, compared to what was available elsewhere 15 and more years ago. Whenever I use Windows, I feel as though I'm working with one hand tied behind my back.
