Use File > Save As. The Default File type is
OpenDocument Text (.odt). File type is a drop down list. You want to
open this list and select Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc). Click
Save and then send the document to your friend.
Look to see if this is possible with your version of OOo:
File > Send > Email as Microsoft Word. If you have it, see if this
will send your friend the file. This may be all that you need to do.
