I have to second those comments.  The Windows Q.S. certainly has been the
cause of problems reported by a number of users.  My previous spreadsheet
would be up and running and have its tasks completed (some exaggeration
there) before OOo even found its splash screen but I'd rather put up with a
few seconds' delay than the issues arising from a clumsy workaround.
