"Unfortunately it seems that there is no way of contacting the forum administrator without knowing the e-mail address *and* password with which you registered." Cite please? 2. "My only suggestion is that you create a new e-mail address, preferably on Gmail". Are you serious? Why on earth would *anyone* consider creating a new email address, let alone a Google "archive my correspondence for life e-mail address", simply because they are having problems with a OOo registration? The proper method for contacting the list administrator, according to http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html is by sending an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and in this case [EMAIL PROTECTED] according to the links on http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html if the user is having problems with a mailing list subscription problem. If the OP signed up for the gmane news feed (still no password required), then http://gmane.org/faq.php will suffice. So, perhaps I'm confused... it would be appreciated if you could adivse otherwise :-) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
There is a *forum* at www.oooforum.org which is different from this (or any other *list*). It seems that one cannot contact the administrator of the *forum* without a registered e-mail address *and* password. Without a registered e-mail address *and* username you cannot even request that your password be e-mailed to you. Thus if, as happened to the OP, the registration process gets mangled, you are up the creek without a paddle. The rules you quote are for contacting the administrator(s) of this and other OO-related *lists*. Please differentiate between *list* and *forum*. These words are being used here in a very specific sense and you need to be careful with their meanings. It is unfortunate, perhaps, that both words also have common or garden English meanings; those must be discarded for the purposes of this conversation. If you can find a way of contacting the administrator of the *forum* at www.oooforum.org *without* a registered e-mail address and password, then please let us (and, in particular) the OP know. Thank you. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
