Hi,

...what i'm attempting to do is now UNINSTALL
there appears to be no instructions ; at least none that I can
find. again, appreciate any assistance


     You uninstall OOo like any other application on the Mac: drag the
program to the trash. To completely remove it, empty the trash
afterwards.



Dragging the application to the trash is a good way, but there is an  
additional space for userdata.

complete uninstall means:

Drag the application to trash AND drag the folder in your "home"  
directory

<your username>/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice.org<version>
also to the trash.
Empty the trash.

Then it is a clean uninstallation.

But you will loose your templates and special preferences of this  
installation.
