Printing envelopes in OpenOffice "just works". You probably need to read
some of the documentation. But first, you need to understand how *your*
printer handles envelopes. For example, my printer wants the envelope
(standard DL size for European A4 paper folded in three) fed short edge
first flap down. Therefore the OpenOffice page needs to be formatted in
landscape mode. If that does not "position the address well", you need
to experiment. To save money, cut some normal paper to the same size as
your envelopes and use that in a trial and error process till you find
where to position the address. Once you have found the right place you
can create a "template" with a text box in the appropriate position. You
then enter the address (copy/paste, perhaps, from the letter) into that
box.
If the paper jams, perhaps your printer cannot handle envelopes. They
are thicker than normal paper and this often upsets printers. Check the
maximum weight paper your printer can handle.
Next look up Envelopes in the Help.

Also read about "Template" and "Text Box" in the Help.
If that doesn't help, come back here explaining exactly what happens
after you have carefully followed those instructions.
