Hi Michael,
You can install "English (United Kingdom)" dictionaries (spelling
checker, hyphenation and thesaurus) using DicOOo:
http://ftp.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/contrib/dictionaries/dicooo/DicOOo.sxw
Once installed, restart OpenOffice.org and check if the correct language
is selected in the preferences.
