1) Is OpenOffice compatible with Vista?
I don't think that any hardware or software is compatible with Vista.
1.5) No, seriously. Answer it again. Is OpenOffice compatible with Vista?
I built high end computers less than one year ago, they are not vista
compatible, luckily they do run 32-bit XP, 64-bit Linux, the old Attarie
game emulator, and that fancy BIOS setup program just fine.
2) How do I install OpenOffice on my Mac? It keeps telling me to
upgrade X11, but I already have.
First you install Crossover office...
3) Is there an Outlook equivalent? How do I email from OpenOffice?
StarBasic is a full featured Outlook replacement. Unfortunately, you
have to write your own UI.
4) Is OpenOffice compatible with Microsoft Office?
Although it may be, Microsoft Office keeps changing so it will not be
compatible with OOo.
5) Citizen X is selling OpenOffice on Ebay. The scoundrels!
Hey, I make $9K a month selling OOo on eBay part time. For two easy
payments of $19.95, I can tell you how.
Now seriously, I oppose the gun lobby and their argument that people
have a right to bear arms, but sometimes I wonder whether people in
the gun lobby are just old OpenOffice mailing list lurkers who are fed
up with FAQs from newbies ... especially newbies who aren't even
subscribed and who force others to forward all responses to them
manually.
ALL of the amendments only apply states and or militias, especially the
third. So, you don't have the second and you can't complain about it
(because no first).
- People who want to post to the list should be subscribed.
But sticky notes are OK.
- The subscription process should include reading a list of FAQs and
their answers, possibly with a confirmation checkbox against each FAQ.
I agree, you can't post until you first click "OK, I read the FAQ"
- When a subscription is activated, the FAQ should be emailed to the
subscriber, just in case.
Come on, I have nothing to say about that, stop it!
It's a real turn off to check my OpenOffice folders and see the same
questions asked over & over. It's a waste of people's time, and it
means that others who have legitimate questions are having time stolen
from them by people who can't be bothered searching the list archives.
They should have that as a question at eharmony.com (did you read the
FAQ before posting....)
I am personally volunteering to assemble a FAQ ( I'll try to keep the
sarcasm to a minimum ... ). I don't know about the subscription
process, but I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to integrate the above
into it.
Seriously, how many FAQs do we already have? I recommend that you find
out before you start from scratch. I must admit, however, that I do not
remember seeing some of these on any of the FAQs. Worst case, it
provides a good starting point. I thought that we used to send a monthly
reminder about

Not useful for readers that are not regular subscribers. The Vista
question is answered with #987... Impressive.
What say ye?
Stop making sense, or I will have to grab my shot-put, or shot-gun, or
what ever you called it (need to check my officially sanctioned Rosie
O'Donnell / Michael Moore gun-toting handbook; they know a lot about
guns and chewing tobaccey)
