The LGPL allows a person to sell copies of OpenOffice.org on media for whatever the market will bear. However, if you know that you can get it for the price of your Internet connection, would you pay $50 (or your currency's equivilent) for a CD with this product? Sometimes yes, if you are on a slow dial connection where it will take 12 or more hours to download. However, you can visit the OpenOffice.org site and there is a list of sellers who charge less.
