I'm Italian, I'm not calm!!! There is 20 years of my sons personal journals
involved.
When I downloaded OO there was a box that said download not complete. There
was no error message.
I have Comcast internet. I am not using a phone line.
I have WordPerfect 3.1 on floppy disk. My current computer can only convert
5.0 or 6.0 word perfect. I have XP on this computer. I thought if I tried
to open the floppies in email I could email them, but I can see the
documents, but can't get them opened.
My son said try using a zip drive in a USB port and copy them to there, but
the same thing keeps happening, I could see the files but can't open them.

Thank you for getting back to me. I am at the hair pulling stages of
this computer mess. I tried downloading open office to my computer, but
it did not work. After 4 tries, I gave up. The patch never took, I
guess. I am not computer savvy. I tired emailing the documents, that
didn't work. I tired using a zip drive, that didn't work. I tried
opening the documents in notebook, that didn't work. Any suggestions,
would be appreciated.

Harold is in the UK and probably not out of bed yet ;) I am currently in
Australia, so by the time you answer Harold could be back on line.
When you tried downloading OOo (OpenOffice.org) did the download
complete, or did you see any error messages? What makes you say it
didn't work?
Can you tell us how you are trying to download OOo? Do you have a
dial-up or broadband internet connection?
Can you explain what type of documents you are trying to email? Can you
explain what you mean about using a zip drive.
I am sure we can do something to help you, but we need you to calmly
explain in more detail what it is you are trying to achieve.
