Maybe the mail went through an Apple gateway. When you start tools/options/java let it sit a second or 20, and it finds the version you have installed. At least mine did on an intel MacBook.I have left it open and it is still empty. :-(Looking at my kubuntu system, it shows the kubuntu installed Free Software VM, and the Sun (my install). My install is 1.5.*, and located at /opt/jre1.5.0_01/bin/java. the kubuntu looks like what you want; /usr/bin/java to verify, open a shell and type which java and that is what you wantI have this: # which javac /usr/bin/javac # javac -version javac 1.5.0_10 How do I add it to OpenOffice?
In the tools -> options -> java requester, you should see a button labeled "ADD", click on that, and then navigate to /usr/bin and select java(c)
