I have never experienced the problem with version 2.0.2 or earlier.  There
seems to be a crop of new bugs with 2.1.x.  You could try replacing the user
settings folder.  Exit all processes and rename the existing folder.  The
software will create a new folder when restarting.

You could check write permissions for the location to which you are trying
to save.
