I have the latest version of OpenOffice.org, v2.1. When I open a large
text file, it crashes if I page down very far. Thia ia an assembly
language source code file that is about 1 MB. I prefer the spell
checker over that in my regular editor, UltraEdit. I went back to the
earlier versions of OOo that I had downloaded and found that the 2.0
beta version seemed to work OK. The most recent version that works OK
with large text files and will coexist with version 2.1 is version
1.1.5. I have both versions installed. 2.1 for word processing and
1.1.5 for spell checking text files. I am sure that you are aware of
this problem by now. I hope you will do something to fix it. The file
extensions that I regularly use are .ASM, .INC, .C, and .H. Other than
this problem, I have had no particular problems with OpenOffice.org and
use it frequently.
