Have you checked the file properties of that spreadsheet? If its
property is "read only", you will have to change this property before
you can edit it directly. Note: if the file is on a CD, it will be
automatically "read only".
There is an icon in the Standard toolbar to the right of the Save
icon. It looks like a piece of paper with the top right corner folded
and has a green pencil in it. If you click this icon (Edit File), it
should do one of two things. Either it will make the spreadsheet
editable, or it will ask you if you want to create a copy that you
can edit.
