The setting mentioned by Anthony Chilco will allow you to preserve the vba code but you will not, generally, be able to use the macros because the script is not recognised by OOo. The Novell version of the software may enable you to use them. Otherwise, you will have to convert them to StarBasic or another language recognised by OOo (Java or Python, for example).
